This service was delivered in June 1811 to Monseigneur le Grand Maréchal du palais, for the service of the Emperor at the Tuileries.

History & Context

This service called, Service marli beautiful blue gold frieze mosaic florets in the middle, was delivered in June 1811 to Monsignor the Grand Marshal of the Palace, for the service of the Emperor at the Tuileries (Vz2, fol.10).

The red "Manuf. Imple de Sèvres", deliberately erased during the Restoration, as was often the case with Emperor Napoleon's services reused by Louis XVIII.

N.B.: This service is the same as that delivered to Elisa Baciocchi, Grand Duchess of Tuscany.

The pattern was reproduced under Charles X, Louis-Philippe, Napoleon III and the Republic.
