Binding in red Moroccan long grained, with flat fillet frame, reticulated and stylized decorative motifs, in the center of the field the arms of the Kingdom of Italy - vice roi Eugène de Beauharnais, smooth back almost completely decorated with cross-links, golden cuts, light abrasion peeling. Elegant binding to the arms of the Kingdom of Italy - Eugène de Beauharnais, Viceroy, and patron of the Academy of Arts in Milan, binding made by the famous binder Luigi Lodigiani (1777-1843). His activity began in the early nineteenth century and took place mainly in the Milanese court of Eugène de Beauharnais, vice roi d'ltalia, from 1805 to 1814, for the Regia Stamperia and the Brera Library. After 1815, and the annexation of Lombardo Veneto by the Austrians, Lodigiani became book binder for the Austrian Emperor Francesco I, for 'Archduke Ranieri viceroy of Lombardo Veneto and from 1818, for Napoleon's wife, Maria Louise of Austria, Duchess of Parma from 1816 to 1831.
