This is a pencil drawing on paper of the Empress Josephine attributed to Firmin Massot and was probably done in 1812 while Josephine was staying in Geneva.

The composition derives from the celebrated painting by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, executed in 1806 for the Corps législatif. The original work is now in the Musée de l’Armée, Paris, and is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and unconventional representations of Napoleon.
